Mariner Finance, a personal loan provider, recognizes that different people prefer different ways to handle their finances. Some borrowers prefer making payments online through a computer, while others want to pay by phone or mail. Having multiple payment options means you can choose the method that works best for your schedule and comfort level.
The main payment methods include online payments through your account, automatic bank transfers, phone payments, and mail payments. Each method has different features, processing times, and considerations. Some methods offer faster processing, while others may give you more time to arrange payment. Some methods may have fees, while others do not.
Before selecting a payment method, consider factors like how quickly you need the payment to process, whether you want to pay on a specific day each month, and which method feels most secure to you. You may also want to think about your internet access, comfort with technology, and banking setup.
Practical Takeaway: Review all available payment methods through your Mariner Finance account or by calling the customer service number on your loan documents. Knowing your options helps you choose the method that matches your needs and preferences.
Online Account Payments and Digital Options
Making payments through your online Mariner Finance account is one of the most common methods borrowers use. To pay online, you typically log into your account using your username and password, select the payment option, enter the amount you want to pay, and confirm the transaction. The process usually takes just a few minutes and can be done from any computer or mobile device with internet access.

When you pay through your online account, you have control over the payment amount and date. You can make a full monthly payment, pay extra toward your principal, or make a partial payment if needed. Many borrowers appreciate being able to see their account balance, payment history, and remaining loan amount all in one place. This visibility helps them track their progress in paying off the loan.
Processing times for online payments vary depending on when you submit the payment. If you pay early in the business day, the payment may post to your account the same day or within one business day. However, payments submitted on weekends or after business hours may take longer to process. Some online platforms show you the expected posting date before you confirm your payment.
Online payments often come with security features like encryption to protect your banking information. When paying online, make sure you use a secure internet connection, such as your home WiFi or a trusted network. Avoid making payments on public WiFi networks when possible. Keep your login credentials private and change your password regularly to maintain account security.
Some borrowers may have the option to use a debit card or credit card for online payments, though fees may apply for credit card transactions. Always review any fees associated with your chosen payment method before completing the transaction. Your account page should display any applicable fees clearly.
Practical Takeaway: Before making your first online payment, log into your account and familiarize yourself with the payment section. Note the processing times for payments and set a reminder to pay a few days before your due date to ensure your payment posts on time.
Automatic Payment Setup and Recurring Transactions
Automatic payments allow you to schedule recurring monthly loan payments directly from your bank account. This method involves authorizing Mariner Finance to withdraw your payment amount on a date you choose each month. Once set up, the payment happens without you having to remember to pay each month. Many borrowers find this method reduces the risk of missing a payment deadline.

To set up automatic payments, you typically provide your bank account information, including your routing number and account number. You choose the day of the month when you want the payment to be withdrawn. Most people select a date shortly after they receive their paycheck to ensure funds are available. The authorization process is usually straightforward and can be completed online or over the phone.
Automatic payments offer several advantages. They save time by removing the need to make a payment each month. They provide consistency, as the same amount is withdrawn on the same day each month. For many people, having a set payment date makes budgeting easier because they know exactly when the payment will be taken from their account. Automatic payments may also help build a positive payment history, as on-time payments are recorded consistently.
Before setting up automatic payments, verify that you have enough funds in your bank account on the scheduled payment date. If your payment date is the same as your loan due date, ensure your deposit will post before the withdrawal happens. If funds are not available, the payment may fail and could result in late fees or other consequences.
You maintain control over automatic payments. Most borrowers can modify the payment amount, change the payment date, or cancel automatic payments by logging into their account or contacting customer service. If you need to make changes, do so well before your next scheduled payment to ensure the changes take effect properly.
Practical Takeaway: Review your monthly income and budget to choose an automatic payment date when you consistently have funds available. Consider setting up automatic payments for at least your minimum monthly payment to reduce the chance of missing a deadline, and you can make additional payments manually when desired.
Phone and Voice Payment Methods
Mariner Finance accepts payments over the phone using an automated system or by speaking with a customer service representative. To pay by phone, you call the customer service number on your loan statement or bill. The automated system typically guides you through the payment process by asking you to enter information using your phone's keypad.

When paying by phone through the automated system, you usually need to provide your loan account number and either your Social Security number or the phone number associated with your account. The system then asks you to enter the payment amount and confirm the payment method. If you are using a bank account for payment, you enter your routing number and account number. The entire process typically takes five to ten minutes.
Calling during business hours allows you to speak with a customer service representative who can answer questions about your account, help with payment arrangements, or address concerns about your loan. Speaking with a representative may take longer than using the automated system, but some people prefer having the opportunity to ask questions or discuss their situation.
Phone payments usually process within one to two business days, depending on when you call and your bank's processing speed. If you call late in the day or on a weekend, your payment may not process until the next business day. Before making a phone payment, confirm the exact processing time so you know when the payment will post to your account.
When making a phone payment, have your account information and banking details ready. Use a phone in a private location to protect your sensitive information. Do not provide banking information over the phone unless you initiated the call to the verified customer service number on your loan documents. Scammers sometimes pose as lenders and trick people into providing banking details over the phone.
Practical Takeaway: Keep the customer service phone number from your loan statement in an easily accessible place. Before calling to make a payment, gather your account number and banking information so the payment process moves quickly.
Mail Payments and Paper Check Options
Mailing a check or money order to Mariner Finance is a traditional payment method that remains available for borrowers who prefer not to pay electronically. To pay by mail, you write a check or obtain a money order for your payment amount, include your loan account number on the check or money order, and send it to the mailing address listed on your loan statement.

When paying by mail, always use the specific payment address provided by Mariner Finance. Using an incorrect address may delay your payment or cause it to be misplaced. Include your account number clearly on the check so the payment reaches your loan account correctly. Many borrowers also include a brief note with their account number for additional clarity.
Mail payments typically take longer to process than other methods. A check sent through the mail may take three to seven business days to reach Mariner Finance, depending on mail speed and distance. After the payment arrives at the office, additional time may be needed to process and post the payment to your account. This total time frame means mail payments should be sent well before your due date to ensure they are received and posted on time.
To track a mail payment, note the date you mail the check. If you do not see the payment posted to your account
